Albemarle to raise prices of aluminum specialty chemicals
November 19, 2008 -- The developer of aluminum trihydroxide and other specialty aluminas for flame retardants, fillers and other industrial applications, announced that it will increase prices for these products by 15 to 25 percent on all shipments made on or after January 1, 2009, or as contracts allow. The company says the increases are needed to help offset rapidly escalating raw material prices, raw material freight costs and energy costs.

SMC unveils 10GBASE-T product line
November 17, 2008 -- At SC 08, SMC Networks introduced what it calls a complete Gigabit Ethernet (10-GbE) product line, with the release of its TigerSwitch 24-Port 10G managed switch with (20) 10GBASE-T and (4) XFP Ports (SMC8724-10BT), and its Tiger Card 10G PCIe 10GbE 10GBASE-T server adapter (SMC10GPCIe-10BT).

FSR designs outdoor wall box
November 17, 2008--FSR's OWB-X outdoor wall boxes are designed specifically for audio/visual, IT and control installations. Covers have "flip up" cable entry doors so that the main cover door can be locked once the cables are connected. Two box styles are available that will allow for either flush "in wall" or surface "on wall" mounting.
